Child actors Ana Bispo and Bernardo Lessa have been cast in the cast of "Paraíso perdido," a new Globoplay telenovela. Ana Bispo became known for her appearances in the flood scenes of the telenovela "Quem ama cuida," while Bernardo Lessa is recognized for playing Angel's son in "Verdades secretas 2."
The plot of "Paraíso perdido," written by George Moura and Sergio Goldenberg, will be based on four plays by playwright Nelson Rodrigues: "Bonitinha, mas ordinária," "A mulher sem pecado," "Toda nudez será castigada," and "Os sete gatinhos." The story will take place in present-day Rio de Janeiro and will have 40 episodes.
Filming will begin this month under the direction of Joana Jabace. Alanis Guillen will play Maria Cecília, daughter of Werneck, a role played by Alexandre Nero, and sister of Heitor, portrayed by Juliano Floss. The character will become romantically involved with her brother-in-law Peixoto, played by Eduardo Sterblitch, and also with Edgar, a character played by Juan Paiva.
The characters of Maria Cecília, Peixoto, and Edgar were taken from the play "Bonitinha, mas ordinária." Edgar, however, is in love with Ritinha, played by Larissa Bocchino. This is not the first time Nelson Rodrigues' work has been adapted for television, as the author is considered one of the greatest Brazilian playwrights of the 20th century.
