11 September: New York lied about toxic air, alerts New York president

The president of New York City Council, Zohran Mamdani, announced this Wednesday the release of tens of thousands of classified documents about September 11. According to the mayor, the documents reveal that the city concealed information about the toxicity of the air in the Ground Zero area after the attacks.

Mamdani declared that the documents show what the city knew about the presence of toxic air around the site of the former Twin Towers, when it learned of this information and how it acted to limit its legal liability.

The president of the City Council warned that many more people died from diseases related to exposure to toxic air than those who were victims of the terrorist attacks themselves on September 11, 2001.
