Summer Blue School returns to Faro with dance, performance and visual arts

The Summer Blue School returns to Faro for its second edition, between September 19 and 25, with an intensive artistic training program dedicated to performance and transdisciplinary practices. The event features four workshops led by national and international creators — Julia Bardsley, André Uerba, Flora Détraz and Miguel Cheta — exploring areas such as dance, voice, performance and visual arts. Registrations run until September 13, with a maximum of 20 participants per workshop. The initiative is part of the Summer Blue Festival programming and includes the presentation of "Æffective Choreography" by André Uerba at Teatro das Figuras on September 26, as part of the Dance Dance Dance Festival.

Universidade Popular de Coimbra resumes journey through music history

Universidade Popular de Coimbra is promoting the Musical Listening Workshop II, an initiative that resumes the journey through the history of Western music, covering three sessions on September 12, 19, and 26. The workshop spans from the Classical period, with Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, through Romanticism with composers such as Liszt, Chopin, Verdi and Wagner, to the 20th-century avant-gardes with Stravinsky, Schoenberg and Cage. The training is led by Hugo Brito, a professor and researcher, and is open to all audiences, with no prior musical knowledge required. Registration runs until September 11 through the institution's website.

Metal and rock at the 16th edition of LAC's Chain Concerts in Lagos

LAC – Laboratory of Creative Activities, in Lagos, hosts on September 12 the 16th edition of Chain Concerts, an evening dedicated to metal and rock n' roll with performances by Above the Ocean, an alternative metal band from Évora, and Pink Pussycats From Hell, a garage rock duo from Lisbon. Doors open at 9pm and concerts start at 9:30pm, with tickets at 10 euros for the general public, 7.50 euros for LAC Members/Friends, 5 euros for students and free for children under 12.
