Diário de Coimbra9 September 2026 at 11:01

The former treasurer of the Tábua Firefighters began to be tried on suspicion of diverting funds from the institution. The accountant, who worked at the corporation, denies having diverted money for his own benefit.

During the trial, it was established that there is no doubt about the occurrence of fund transfers. The fact that the transfers took place is considered proven in the case.

What is at issue in the trial is to determine the reason behind the money transfers. The authorities want to understand what was the intention and purpose of these financial movements.

The other central point of the process is the identification of the source of the revenues that were transferred. The authorities are trying to determine where the funds moved by the former treasurer of the Tábua Firefighters came from.
