Emmy Curl debuts singing in Mirandese on new album

Observador9 September 2026 at 10:48

Emmy Curl, a Transmontano singer, debuts singing in Mirandese on her new album. The artist has dedicated more than a decade to researching traditional Portuguese music.

The album is called "Pastoral 2.0" and is a tribute to Trás-os-Montes and Portuguese culture. This is not the first time Emmy Curl has explored traditional music, but it marks an important milestone in her career by including the Mirandese language, one of Portugal's official languages spoken mainly in the Miranda do Douro region.

The choice of Mirandese reflects the artist's commitment to the preservation and valorization of Portuguese regional traditions, giving voice to a minority language through music.
