The main episode of confusion happened in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms at halftime. According to reports, Rúben Dias was involved in a scuffle with Francesco Farioli, Porto's coach. Emotions started to heat up even before the whistle for the break.
Porto players and coaching staff protested vehemently a challenge by Marc Guehi on Gabri Veiga, calling for the dismissal of the Manchester City player. Shortly after, the Porto side called for a second yellow card for Josko Gvardiol, who was substituted at the start of the second half.
