Rufián criticizes that Sánchez denies that PP and Vox can destroy everything: "They will destroy everything public"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 10:37

During the control session held in the Congress of Deputies, the spokesperson for the Republican Left (ERC), Gabriel Rufián, directed a harsh interjection at the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez. In his intervention, Rufián criticized Sánchez for denying that PP and Vox can cause great damage, warning that these parties "will destroy everything that is public" if they come to power.

The ERC deputy contrasted the Executive's course with electoral confidence and stressed that governments lose support not only due to management errors but also when the truthfulness of their discourse is broken. Rufián thus warned about the political cost of the lack of transparency on the part of the Executive.

For his part, Pedro Sánchez responded defending the stability and continued action of his Cabinet in the face of the criticism from the Republican bench. The President of the Government claimed the work carried out from Moncloa and defended his record during the current legislative term.

Sánchez also urged parliamentary partners to maintain a State attitude and sustain the commitment to the policies agreed during the legislative period, appealing for the continuity of collaboration between the forces that support the Executive.
