Património Cultural, a Public Institute, announced the beginning of the public consultation on the draft decision to register the "Golegã Fair" in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The consultation procedure runs until September 24.
The Golegã council views this initiative as an important recognition of local tradition. The Vice-President of Golegã Town Council, Diogo Rosa, considered this as "another step" towards the recognition and preservation of this tradition.
The integration of the Golegã Fair into the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage aims to protect and enhance this cultural manifestation, which is part of the region's identity.
