The United States Southern Command reported Tuesday having destroyed a new Ecuadorian ship in the Pacific Ocean. This was the sixth Ecuadorian vessel sunk by American forces in less than two weeks, according to the military command.
American forces intercepted the fishing boat called "Don Rufo", which allegedly operated as a refueling station for drug trafficking operations. The ship's crew was captured and the vessel was sunk.
Southern Command published the information on social media X, where it also shared a video of the military operation. This series of actions is part of the United States' efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Pacific region.
