"Heat will intensify gradually until Sunday the 13th": these locations in Portugal could reach 38 to 40°C

After the temporary cooling caused by the passage of a cold front on Tuesday, heat will rapidly return to continental Portugal. Temperatures will begin to rise gradually from Thursday, September 10th, and the thermal recovery will initially be slight, but will gain momentum over the weekend.

According to ECMWF model projections, Saturday and especially Sunday, the 13th, will be marked by quite high temperatures for September. Several areas in Centro and Sul of the country will approach 40°C again, potentially reaching 38 to 40°C in various locations in continental Portugal.
