Faro. Six municipalities at maximum fire danger

Observador9 September 2026 at 07:40

Six municipalities in the Algarve are at maximum wildfire danger. These are Monchique, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira.

In addition to these six Algarve municipalities, another 25 municipalities across the country are at very high wildfire danger. This situation places much of Portuguese territory on alert given the risk of wildfires.

The classification of maximum and very high danger indicates meteorological conditions favorable to the occurrence and spread of fires, which has led authorities to reinforce the alert for the population of the affected regions.
