After Rio recorded the coldest afternoon of the year on Monday, on the September 7th holiday, thermometers will rise again slowly throughout the week, but no intense heat is forecast. Rain should persist until Sunday, at least. For today and tomorrow, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a yellow warning of potential danger from storms for most of the state, including the capital. The maximum today should be 27°C, and the recommendation is to keep an umbrella in your bag.
On the holiday, the highest temperature recorded in the city was 19°C at Vila Militar, in the West Zone, according to data from Inmet released by Climatempo. The minimum was 15°C. This maximum was also the lowest ever recorded in a September in Rio since 2015.
