Marítimo denies painting the pitch and goes to court

Dia de Jogo — jornal desportivo9 September 2026 at 01:53

Marítimo, the Madeiran club, came forward to deny that it painted the pitch at Barreiros Stadium. The club guarantees that it never carried out any painting on the surface of the sports facility.

According to Marítimo's board, a maintenance intervention is currently underway on the stadium's pitch, but that it does not involve artificial painting.

Faced with the accusations or suspicions raised, the Madeiran club decided to go to court to clarify the situation and defend its good name.

Barreiros Stadium is home to Marítimo, a club from the Autonomous Region of Madeira that regularly competes in the main national sporting competitions.
