A couple was today again convicted to 22 years in prison by the Beja court for the death of two elderly German citizens. The two alleged murderers, who had previously been convicted to the same sentence, saw the case sent back for a new judgment by decision of the Court of Appeal.
The crimes occurred in a village in the municipality of Beja, in the Alentejo region. The victims were an elderly German couple.
The new judgment was issued after the Court of Appeal determined that the case should be re-evaluated, leading to the issuance of a new sentence.
