The Brazilian labor market is heated, according to data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), which shows the creation of more than 972,000 new jobs in July. Even so, finding the right employees is not easy, and a São Paulo restaurant decided to post an unusual approach to recruitment on social media.
The California Food restaurant chain posted a list of basic requirements that many employers would like to find in candidates. Among the requirements are showing up on time, working the full shift, notifying in case of absence, and not disappearing in the middle of the workday.
The post also includes more peculiar requirements, such as treating colleagues and customers "like people" and working during work hours. The restaurant also highlights some "rare skills," such as not saying "that's not what I was hired for" and understanding that teamwork sometimes requires teamwork.
The post went viral on social media, drawing attention to the difficulty many employers face in finding professionals willing to meet requirements considered basic, but that apparently have become rare in today's job market.
