The natural gas price for one-month delivery in the Netherlands TTF market rose more than 4% today, surpassing 76 euros per megawatt-hour, the highest level since January 2023. During the afternoon, the price of this gas, which serves as Europe's benchmark, was up 4.63%, to 76.73 euros/MWh. The day before, natural gas had risen 1.88%, to 73.30 euros/MWh. The price increase is related to the Middle East conflict, which has affected European energy markets. To find prices above current levels, one must go back to January 2023, when natural gas reached higher values.
