The OvomCare fertility clinic, located in Cascais, declared insolvency and left more than 200 patients in a situation of great uncertainty. The reproductive cells of patients were transferred to another clinic in Lisbon, which only offers six months of free storage. SIC spoke with one of those affected, who had her eggs collected precisely on the day the establishment closed its doors. The patient stated she did not receive answers about what will happen to her gametes. The insolvency process puts at risk the dream of motherhood of hundreds of women who turned to OvomCare for fertility treatments.
