CinEduc Project Turns Cinema into a Classroom

oglobo8 September 2026 at 19:13

According to the TIC Kids Online Brasil 2025 survey, conducted by Cetic.br/NIC.br, 88% of Brazilian children and adolescents who use the internet watch online videos. Exposure to images begins early and extends to social media, streaming platforms, advertising, games, and content produced by influencers.

The research reveals a mismatch between consumption and critical capacity. About 43% of users aged 11 to 17 believe the first search result is always the best source, and they cannot always verify whether the information they find is correct. The study indicates that children and young people need to develop the skills to identify different points of view and critically evaluate what they see.

For a generation accustomed to consuming videos at a rapid pace, the ability to interpret them can be as important as learning to read and write. The CinEduc Project emerges in this context, seeking to transform cinema into an educational tool to develop these critical skills in young people.
