Brazilian Bruno Fernando Rego, 28 years old, who had been missing in France since July 5, was found dead. An app-based driver and resident of the Paris metropolitan area, he made his last contact with family and friends on that day and was never seen again. The confirmation of his death was communicated by Bruno's sister, Beatriz Rego, on Tuesday.
Beatriz revealed that her brother's body was found three days after his disappearance, on July 8, but that the family only received the news on September 7, two months later. "After more than two months of tireless investigation, my brother was found on July 8 dead. We only learned of the news on September 7. I will no longer discuss the matter here," she wrote on social media.
Beatriz led a campaign to try to find Bruno, mobilizing Brazilians and volunteers to spread awareness of his disappearance in the French capital. Originally from Capivari, in the interior of São Paulo, Bruno had moved to France before the events.
