A 24-year-old man is suspected of killing with punches and kicks his ex-partner Ana Beatryz Gomes dos Santos, 21 years old, on Monday night (7), in the Xangri-Lá neighborhood, in Ribeirão das Neves, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. The couple maintained a four-year relationship, had been separated for three months, and shared custody of their 1-year-old daughter.
The Military Police responded to the call around 9:45 PM. At the scene, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) confirmed Ana Beatryz's death and estimated that she had died 50 minutes before help arrived.
According to the testimony of a cousin of the suspect, screams from an argument were heard at the residence around 7:30 PM. After noticing silence following the argument, he went to the property and found the woman unconscious, at which point he called for rescue. The suspect had already left the scene.
Another witness reported having brought the victim to the house to pick up the child and waited outside.
