Festival da Madeira inaugurated on Thursday in Lisbon

The Junta de Freguesia de Avenidas Novas inaugurated on Thursday, at 7:30 PM, the Festival da Madeira, which takes place at Jardim do Arco do Cego, next to the Saldanha Metro station, in Lisbon.

The event will run daily from 12:00 to 23:00, continuing until September 20. The Festival is part of the program of the Celebrations of the 50 Years of Autonomies.

The festival aims to provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about, celebrate and experience Madeiran identity, through a program dedicated to gastronomy, culture and traditions of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

"Preto no Branco": Jorge Barroso brings 36 works to Vila Viçosa and turns contrast into art (with photos)

Painter Jorge Barroso inaugurated the exhibition "Preto no Branco – Black in White" at the Florbela Espanca Cinema-Theatre Gallery in Vila Viçosa, bringing together 36 works marked by the exclusive use of black and white tones. A native of Rio de Moinhos and self-taught, the artist has dedicated himself to painting and writing for about 30 years, exploring through chiaroscuro the depth, volume and different interpretations in his works. This is the first time he exhibits in Vila Viçosa, with the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Tiago Salgueiro, highlighting the quality of the works presented. The exhibition can be visited until September 27.
