Funchal Notícias8 September 2026 at 17:55

The Institute of Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts of Madeira (IVBAM) and the Institute of Vine and Wine of the Azores will reinforce institutional cooperation in the viticulture and wine production sectors. This collaboration between the two Portuguese autonomous regions comes in a context of sharing knowledge and good practices between the two territories.

The president of the Institute of Vine and Wine of the Azores, Cláudio José Gomes Lopes, went to the Demarcated Region of Madeira at the invitation of the Madeiran body. This visit represents an important step for strengthening the relations between the two institutions responsible for boosting the wine sector in the respective autonomous regions.

The objective of this cooperation is the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the two regions, which share similar characteristics as insular and autonomous territories. This collaboration can contribute to the development and enhancement of wine production in both regions, enhancing the synergies between the two sectors.
