The Lisbon Stock Exchange closed higher today, with the PSI index rising 0.66% to 9,481.29 points. The positive performance of the Lisbon market contrasts with the lack of a defined trend in the European markets.

Among the main gainers, Mota-Engil stands out, with its shares rising more than 5% during the session. This gain became one of the most significant in the Portuguese index.

The European context did not allow for a clear trend in the markets, which makes the performance of the Portuguese Stock Exchange particularly relevant. The PSI thus managed to end the session in positive territory, overcoming the uncertainties observed in other European markets.

Parpública confirms State entry in REN

Parpública confirmed that the Portuguese State now holds 13.7% of REN, after completing the acquisition of 91.7 million shares in the company responsible for the national electricity and gas networks. The operation, agreed on August 14, was completed after the departure of Pontegadea Inversiones, the investment company of the owner of Zara, making the Portuguese State a reference shareholder with a qualified stake exceeding both the 5% and 10% thresholds of voting rights.
