São João das Lampas marks 487 years since the parish's founding

The parish of São João das Lampas celebrates this Thursday, September 9th, the 487 years since its founding and the Parish, in a day dedicated to celebrating the history, identity and local community. The ceremonies begin at 11:00 AM with a solemn session in front of the Parish Council headquarters.

The program also integrates the Festivities of Our Lady of Health, including at 7:00 PM a eucharist at the Mother Church for the 487th anniversary of the founding of the parish and the parish, with participation of local associations and groups.

The night is animated by music, with artist Ruth Marlene taking the stage at 10:00 PM, followed at 11:00 PM by a show by the band Insert Coin.

The celebrations aim to mark a historic date for São João das Lampas, highlighting the journey of the parish and the contribution of the community to building its present and future.

"Preto no Branco": Jorge Barroso brings 36 works to Vila Viçosa and turns contrast into art (with photos)

Painter Jorge Barroso inaugurated the exhibition "Preto no Branco – Black in White" at the Florbela Espanca Cinema-Theatre Gallery in Vila Viçosa, bringing together 36 works marked by the exclusive use of black and white tones. A native of Rio de Moinhos and self-taught, the artist has dedicated himself to painting and writing for about 30 years, exploring through chiaroscuro the depth, volume and different interpretations in his works. This is the first time he exhibits in Vila Viçosa, with the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Tiago Salgueiro, highlighting the quality of the works presented. The exhibition can be visited until September 27.
