A tourist suffered a sprain on the path of Ponta de São Lourenço, on trail PR8, after falling during a walk. The incident occurred along this well-known pedestrian route on the island of Madeira.
The tourist was injured due to the fall and required medical assistance. The accident required the intervention of rescue services to provide first aid to the injured person.
Due to the location of the incident and the impossibility of land transport, the tourist had to be rescued and transported by sea. The evacuation operation took place from Cais do Sardinha, located at the end of the trail of Ponta de São Lourenço.
