The work of writer Raduan Nassar will have a new publisher starting in 2027. Fósforo was announced this Tuesday as the new editorial home of the author, taking over the publication of his novels such as "Lavoura arcaica" and "Um copo de cólera", some of the most important works of Brazilian literature.
The change comes after the end of a 37-year partnership between Nassar and Companhia das Letras, which the writer left in March. Since then, there had been speculation in the literary market about who would be the next editor of his work.
Rita Mattar, partner at Fósforo, stated that the publisher takes on "with honor and joy" the task of opening a new editorial cycle for the author, recognizing the "challenge worthy of the greatness of his literature and the extraordinary work carried out by Companhia das Letras over decades."
In addition to reprinting Raduan Nassar's existing works, Fósforo plans to release unpublished writings, compilations of texts published by him in the press over more than five decades, analytical books about his work, and audiobooks. The publisher announced that an editorial board was formed with critic and researcher Flora Vuong.
