On August 28, the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, confirmed in Lisbon that the RRP was fully executed, meeting the deadline agreed with Brussels. The official stated that Portugal fully implemented 44 reforms and met 100% of the milestones and targets, with more than 16,000 million euros in subsidies secured.
The economy minister also pointed out that the loan component, which amounts to around 5,500 million euros, will also be fully executed, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The RRP aims to implement a set of reforms and investments aimed at recovering economic growth, repairing the damage caused by Covid-19, supporting investments and generating employment.
