The Municipality of Fornos de Algodres has joined the Rural Move network, an initiative to promote rural territories that seeks to bring together people, projects and opportunities in Portugal. The partnership aims to affirm the municipality as an attractive territory to live, work, undertake and invest in the Interior of the country.
Rural Move operates on a logic of cooperation between territories and partners, promoting the sharing of knowledge, experiences and good practices. For Fornos de Algodres, the membership will allow strengthening municipal work in areas such as attracting new residents, remote work, entrepreneurship and the dynamization of coworking spaces.
The President of the Municipal Chamber, Alexandre Lote, highlighted that rural territories now have an opportunity they cannot miss, noting that more and more people are seeking quality of life, proximity, security and a different relationship with the territory. The mayor considered that Fornos de Algodres has the conditions to meet this demand.
With this integration, Fornos de Algodres reinforces its connection to a national network dedicated to valuing the new rurality, assuming a more active position in building solutions for the demographic, economic and social challenges that mark the territories of the Portuguese Interior.
