Minister José Guimarães, from the Institutional Relations Secretariat of the Lula government, criticized the decision of Minister André Mendonça, from the Supreme Federal Court (STF), to remove the head of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues. Guimarães stated that the measure is "unwarranted and an interference where it doesn't belong."
The minister of political articulation of the Lula government also said that Mendonça's decision "smells like electoral" and that "this cannot happen." He wrote in a social media post that "the STF needs to take action."
