The Coimbra PSP arrested a 21-year-old man on Tuesday morning, October 8, for possession of a prohibited weapon. The arrest occurred during a police operation in the city.
The officers seized a knife measuring 32.5 centimeters in length, classified as a prohibited weapon under current Portuguese legislation.
In addition to the bladed weapon, the young man was also found in possession of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas or "joy gas," a substance whose use and sale have been increasingly regulated.
The detainee was brought before judicial authorities to be heard and to be subject to the precautionary measures determined by the court.
