Salto firefighters locate woman who got lost during hike

The Voluntary Firefighters of Salto located a woman who got lost during a hike in Cabril. The alert was received through Civil Protection at around 11:15 AM, initiating a search operation. According to Hernâni Carvalho, commander of the corporation, the woman was on a walking trail when she got lost and could no longer find her way back on her own.

The operation mobilized a 4x4 rescue ambulance and a rescue team, totaling two vehicles and seven firefighters. The operatives managed to establish telephone contact with the woman, obtaining information about her location and initiating the on-foot search.

After forty minutes of driving, the firefighters had to continue the search on foot. The woman was eventually located and, according to the information provided, she is in good health.

Six people assisted off Albufeira after vessel loses propulsion

Six people on board a recreational vessel were assisted by the Quarteira Lifeboat Station after the vessel lost propulsion off Olhos de Água beach, in Albufeira. The alert was received at 4:40 PM yesterday, September 7, and also mobilized elements from the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Faro. The occupants did not require medical assistance and were safely escorted to Albufeira Marina. The skipper was notified that the vessel could only sail again after an inspection to ensure seaworthiness conditions.
