Santander Foundation Portugal opened applications for the new edition of the Social Innovation Prize, dedicated to the Future of Education. The competition will distribute a total of 20 thousand euros among three winning projects, with the first place receiving 10 thousand euros and the second and third places receiving five thousand euros each. Applications are open until October 11 on the Santander X platform.
The prize is aimed at social organizations, companies, and startups legally established in Portugal that present educational solutions already tested and validated in the field. In addition to financial support, candidates will have access to a capacity building program and the three winners will benefit from specialized mentoring.
This edition aligns with the Charter for the Future of Education, within the Education Horizons initiative, focusing on areas such as lifelong learning, future skills, literacy, education for sustainability, and the approximation between the educational system and the job market.
The president of Santander Foundation Portugal, Inês Rocha de Gouveia, stated that the prize aims to support those already working in the field to find new answers to education challenges. The initiative is developed in partnership with Impact Hub Lisboa and relies on voting by Santander Portugal employees for the final selection of winners. Since 2022, the Social Innovation Prize has already supported 50 projects, totaling an investment of 350 thousand euros.
