El Periódico Mediterráneo - General8 September 2026 at 13:42

The financial rating agency DBRS Morningstar upgraded the long-term rating of Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo (BCC), Cajamar and Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar to BBB (high), representing a one-notch improvement from the previous BBB classification. This update reflects a more favorable assessment of these entities' capacity to meet their financial obligations.

In addition to the long-term rating improvement, DBRS Morningstar also proceeded with the upgrade of the short-term rating, which went from R-2 (high) to R-1 (low). This elevation indicates a more positive opinion on the capacity to meet short-term debt obligations.

The agency also assigned a stable outlook to the group, which suggests that no significant changes in the ratings are expected in a foreseeable time horizon. This stable outlook conveys confidence in the financial trajectory of the cooperative institution.

Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar is one of the largest entities in the cooperative banking sector in Spain, and this rating improvement by an internationally recognized agency represents a vote of confidence in its financial solidity and the quality of its management.
