The Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, was questioned in Parliament about a possible connection to Freemasonry. At the hearing of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Liberties and Guarantees, Rui Rocha directly asked Luís Neves if he "belongs or has belonged to Freemasonry."
Luís Neves responded wittily, denying any connection to Freemasonry. Instead of answering the question directly, the minister stated that he is a member of the Académico do Fundão Club, the Clube Recreativo do Feijó, and the Atlético Clube da Almada.
Rui Rocha's question arose in the context of a parliamentary hearing of the minister, during which various matters related to the Internal Administration portfolio were discussed.
