Spanish companies have until September 29 or 30 to adapt their employment contracts to the new legal requirements. The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the royal decree-law that transposes the European directive on transparent working conditions.
From that date, contracts must include detailed information about the base and variable salary that the worker will receive, as well as the daily working hours and minimum notice periods in case of shift changes, among other aspects.
According to sources from the Ministry of Labour, the new measures will come into force within 20 days after publication in the Official State Gazette, which should happen between Wednesday and Thursday.
This means that companies have only a few weeks to ensure that their contracts comply with the new labor transparency requirements established by the European directive.
