The Prosecutor General of Ukraine submitted his resignation following suspicions of alleged involvement in fraud. This decision comes in a context of political tensions related to corruption cases in the country.

Last week, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities detained Serhiy Kropiva, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Prosecutor's Office. Kropiva is suspected of involvement in a corruption scheme.

Kropiva's detention is said to have been the direct cause of the Prosecutor General's resignation, who decided to leave the position after suspicions fell on his department. The case raises questions about the integrity of law enforcement services in Ukraine.

Around 500 police officers to be released to the streets with PSP reorganization

The Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, announced today that the PSP reorganization plan in Lisbon, Porto, and Setúbal will allow around 500 police officers to be released to the streets, nearly 200 of them to the Portuguese capital. The announcement was made during a parliamentary hearing at the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Liberties and Guarantees, where the official presented the plan prepared by the PSP and delivered to the Government.
