Angola. Higher education with 50,000 fewer spots

Angola faces a significant reduction in higher education, with 250 fewer courses available. This decrease is due to the "lack of conditions" that led to the non-accreditation of several courses.

As a direct consequence, the country recorded a reduction of 50,000 spots in higher education, compared to the previous academic year.

The main cause for this decline is related to the non-accreditation of courses by educational institutions.

EPTOLIVA opens new space in the center of Tábua and reinforces educational and social response

EPTOLIVA inaugurated new facilities in the center of Tábua, on Avenida Comendador Costa Carvalho, bringing together the Qualifica Center, the CLDS 5G – Tábua + Inclusiva project and other socio-educational initiatives, reinforcing proximity to the population and improving service conditions. The opening coincided with the delivery of Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competencies (RVCC) diplomas to trainees from the Qualifica Center, at a ceremony that was attended by representatives from the Municipality of Tábua. The president of ADEPTOLIVA, Daniel Dinis Costa, recalled that more than 650 people have already benefited from its various responses, which include teaching Portuguese as a Language of Welcome for the migrant population and worker requalification. Councilors Susana Mendes and David Pinto praised the institution's work and guaranteed the continuation of the partnership with the local authority.

Synod: New reports propose changes in the relationship with bishops

The General Secretariat of the Synod published new reports with proposals to change the relationship between dioceses and consecrated life communities, requesting the creation of mandatory diocesan cooperation agreements on mission, formation, gender equality and patrimony management, as well as the appointment of a vicar for consecrated life in each diocese. The second report proposes greater participation of the laity in the preparation of the "ad limina" visits to the Vatican, advocating that a diocesan representation accompany the bishop and that the Holy See establish an independent commission to evaluate the process. These documents, prepared by study groups instituted by the Pope, do not represent final decisions, but indicate directions for operational proposals to be submitted to the Holy Father.
