The Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça celebrates tomorrow, September 9th, its 53rd anniversary. The hospital unit, located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, has reached more than half a century of service to the Madeiran population, under the motto "For 53 years, dedicated to what matters most: Life".
The commemorative ceremonies were organized by the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM, EPERAM) and include a program focused on the community and health professionals. The event will begin at 11:30am with the celebration of a mass at the Hospital Chapel.
The religious ceremony will be presided over by the bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás. After the religious celebration, at 12:15pm, a traditional moment is scheduled in the entrance hall of the hospital unit, where happy birthday will be sung to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
