The Mercurium are a rock and metal band formed by four 17-year-olds from the municipality of Pombal: Tomás Gameiro, Lucas Antunes, Salvador Silva and Tiago Santos. The four school friends at Externato de Albergaria dos Doze began playing together in an end-of-year performance and, after inviting Tiago as drummer, had their first rehearsal in December 2024. The initial goal was to perform at the school's festival, but they decided to continue preparing and the rehearsals became regular in Lucas's garage.
The band gave their first complete concert on November 15, 2025, after a small presentation for parents and relatives and a first public performance at the Tasquinhas de Alitém, where they played only three songs. Since then, invitations have been coming in and the Mercurium started performing outside the municipality of Pombal, going through localities in the municipalities of Ansião and
