Liverpool announced on Tuesday an agreement with Turkish Airlines for the airline company to become the new main sponsor of their jersey starting from the 2027/28 season. Although the club has not officially disclosed the amounts, the BBC claims that the contract will yield 300 million pounds, approximately R$ 1.54 billion, to the Reds over the five years of partnership.
The agreement provides for an average payment of 60 million pounds per season, equivalent to approximately R$ 308 million. In dollars, the amounts reach US$ 406 million in total, or more than US$ 80 million per year, considering the dollar exchange rate of R$ 5.13 reported by the publication.
The arrival of Turkish Airlines ends a long partnership between Liverpool and Standard Chartered Bank, which had been the main jersey sponsor since 2010. The current contract yields approximately US$ 67 million per season to the English club, equivalent to R$ 344 million.
