The Public Ministry filed charges against two men and a company based in Spain, all suspected of aiding illegal immigration in Portugal, specifically in the Elvas area. The indictment was filed at the DIAP in Portalegre.
The defendants are suspected of having brought immigrants from various countries into Portugal, in a scheme that took place between October 2021 and January 2022. The investigation revealed that the suspects facilitated the illegal entry of foreign citizens into Portuguese territory.
The two men and the Spanish company now face formal charges for crimes of aiding illegal immigration. The Public Ministry proceeded with the case at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Portalegre, where the investigation was conducted.
