Imaging capacity reinforced at ULS Viseu Dão Lafões

Diário de Viseu8 September 2026 at 11:45

The Local Health Unit (ULS) Viseu Dão Lafões saw its imaging capacity reinforced through funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). This funding enabled the acquisition of new state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Three main pieces of equipment were acquired: an angiography system, a 1.5 tesla magnetic resonance imaging unit, and a high-performance computed tomography scanner with advanced technology.

The new equipment will allow for significant improvement in the diagnostic imaging services available to the population of the Viseu Dão Lafões region, providing more accurate and modern diagnostic tools.

This investment is part of the modernization strategy of the Portuguese health system through the European funds of the PRR, which have been used to reinforce the technological capabilities of health units across the country.
