Portuguese cinemas received almost 1.8 million spectators in August, an increase of 83.5% compared to the same month last year. The Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual (ICA) revealed that this significant growth was driven by the new Spider-Man film, which attracted large audiences to national theaters. In the first eight months of the year, cinemas registered an 11% increase in the number of spectators, rising from 7.7 million tickets sold in the same period last year to 8.5 million. Regarding revenue, there was growth of 110.8% in August, totaling 13.2 million euros.
