dnoticias.pt8 September 2026 at 12:06

Over 760 residents of Ponta do Sol have already benefited from health programs promoted by the Institute of Health Administration (IASAÚDE), with a total investment exceeding 235 thousand euros.

The largest portion of the amount was destined for the Baby Kit Program, in which 183 thousand euros were applied to support families during the first year of children's lives.

This value represents about 78% of all investment accounted for in the municipality of Ponta do Sol.

The data was disclosed by IASAÚDE itself, responsible for the implementation of these health programs in the municipality.

Gasoline hits record price in the US on Labor Day holiday

The average price of gasoline in the United States reached $4.14 per gallon on the Labor Day weekend, the highest ever recorded for the holiday, nearly $1 above the same period last year. The increase is driven by the war between the United States and Iran, which significantly reduced oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz. Diesel also reached a historic record of $5.85 per gallon. The situation directly affects American families, who have reduced or canceled summer trips, and may impact prices in supermarkets and delivery services, as freight costs tend to be passed on to consumers. The American government acknowledges the problem but believes in a possible drop in the coming months, although factors such as extreme heat in Texas, possible hurricanes, and reduced Russian and Chinese refinery production keep the scenario uncertain.

Expenses have skyrocketed and the salary stayed the same? There's a question that could be worth more than €100 per month

With the return of inflationary pressure in Portugal, many families are facing a silent accumulation of expense increases — fuel, mortgage payments, and energy bills — while salaries fail to keep pace. According to the Contas-Poupança portal, the key to recovering financial margin may lie not in cutting small daily pleasures, but in reviewing fixed expenses that remain unchanged for years, such as insurance, telecommunications, energy tariffs, or bank fees. The podcast proposes a simple exercise: if expenses rose by 100 euros next month and the salary remained the same, where would you find that money? The answer forces each person to distinguish between expenses outside their control and those that depend on their choices, identifying contracts to renegotiate or financial habits with no real value.
