Palacete Villa Moraes, in Ponte de Lima, hosted the presentation of the investment priorities of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho in the area of accessibility. The event aimed to identify projects considered essential to strengthen the competitiveness, attractiveness and connectivity of the region's territory.
Among the interventions pointed out as urgent are the Valença, Monção and Melgaço Bypass Roads, the extension of the A28 between Vila Nova de Cerveira and the Sapardos Junction, the Connection to the Madalena border on the IC28, the Ponte de Lima bypass road and a direct rail connection to the Port of Viana do Castelo.
The CIM Alto Minho also intends to proceed with studies for a new crossing of the Minho River between Caminha and A Guarda, as well as improve road connections between the municipalities of the region. This includes the inland connection axis between Arcos de Valdevez and Monção, in Paredes de Coura, and a new road connection to the A28 in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, in an area still to be defined north of the city.
