The PCP refused today to feed the "demagogic and lying agenda" of Chega, considering that the motion of censure presented by André Ventura's party does not serve the interests of workers and the Portuguese people. The communists announced that they will abstain in the vote on the motion of censure taking place this afternoon in the Assembly of the Republic.

The Left Bloc followed the same path as the PCP. The sole deputy of the Left Bloc, Mohanad Murtadi, also announced that he will abstain in the vote on the motion of censure, thus aligning with the party's position on the matter.

This motion of censure arises in a context of political tension, with Chega seeking to politically capitalize on the current situation. Both the PCP and the Left Bloc consider that the right-wing party's initiative does not correspond to a credible alternative for the country.

With the abstention of PCP and BE confirmed, Chega's motion of censure is expected to be rejected in the vote this afternoon, since the party does not have a parliamentary majority to get it approved.
