Minister of Home Affairs says he is not affected by controversies

The Minister of Home Affairs, Luís Neves, assured today that he is not minimally affected by the controversies that have been made public and defended that the speech in Madeira was aimed at responding to populist attacks.

During the regimental hearing in the Assembly of the Republic, the minister said: "I do not feel minimally affected by this situation. As long as I have the confidence of the prime minister, I will continue to work".

Luís Neves responded in this way to the questions raised by socialist deputy Isabel Moreira, who questioned him about the controversies surrounding the government official.

The person responsible for the Home Affairs portfolio considered that his speech in Madeira was aimed at responding to populist attacks, thus seeking to justify his position regarding the criticisms that have arisen.
