YOUNG VOLUNTEERS HELP MAP THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE TUA VALLEY

Young volunteers are contributing to the biodiversity survey of the Tua Valley by recording fauna and flora species using mobile phones. The initiative took place within the framework of the MIRANDELA +TUA program, integrated into the Youth Volunteering for Nature and Forests 2026, promoted by the Municipality of Mirandela, with support from IPDJ, in partnership with the Tua Valley Regional Natural Park and BIOPOLIS-Cibio.

During the summer, the different groups walked the trail of the Mirandela Ecoteca and recorded the species found on the BioDiversity4All platform, contributing to the knowledge of the region's natural heritage. The activity brought together youth, technology and citizen science, encouraging the discovery of local biodiversity and its preservation.
