Portugal is below the OECD average in international education tests. Portuguese students achieved the worst result ever in the Reading test of the international study promoted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. This result represents a warning sign for education in Portugal. The OECD international study evaluates student performance in different countries in areas such as reading, mathematics, and science.
