SAPO Notícias8 September 2026 at 10:00

AEP – Associação Empresarial de Portugal is taking six Portuguese companies to the 16th edition of Medical Fair Asia, which takes place between September 9 and 11, in Singapore. This is the second participation of the Portuguese business association at this exhibition.

The event is described as the main healthcare and medical devices exhibition in Southeast Asia. AEP expects that this participation will help open doors in the Asian market for Portuguese companies in the health sector.

The six Portuguese companies will thus have the opportunity to present their products and services in one of Asia's most demanding markets, benefiting from the visibility provided by this benchmark event in the region.

UniCredit obtains ECB authorization to apply 'Danish Compromise' and reinforces CET1 ratio

The Italian bank UniCredit obtained authorization from the European Central Bank to apply the 'Danish Compromise' methodology in calculating the group's consolidated capital ratios, which should reinforce its CET1 ratio by approximately 52 basis points. Starting from the third quarter of 2026 reporting, stakes in insurance companies will be treated through risk weighting instead of deduction from regulatory capital. UniCredit considered that the decision complies with its commitment to obtain authorization by the end of September and contributes to reinforcing its disciplined capital allocation capacity.

ANDOVI calls for extension of wine support to regions such as the Tejo

The National Association of Wine Denominations of Origin (ANDOVI) considered the support announced by the Government for Douro winegrowers to be positive, but argues that the measure should be extended to the remaining wine-producing regions of the country, including the Tejo, which also faces difficulties in the marketing of production and in the valorization of grapes. In a statement, the association, which represents the 14 wine-producing regions of mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores, warned that the problems experienced in the sector are not limited to the Douro, emphasizing that all regions face similar difficulties in terms of marketing and declining grape prices. ANDOVI hopes that the announced support will constitute only the beginning of a more comprehensive response.
